What Sets 99th Percentile Apart?

I don’t shy away from the difficult cases. They are my bread and butter. I can help you tackle the hardest problems and achieve the most seemingly insurmountable goals. My ways are unique, and they are uniquely adaptive to each person.

I regularly take students who have already worked with other tutors (tutors who couldn’t help them anymore). As a result, challenges aren’t so challenging for me; I’m used to dealing with them. So we can hit the ground running. You can know that you’re in secure hands. We won’t waste time with busy work or ineffective ways of learning.

Read through the questions and answers below so that you can see some of the ways that I help people. Even if the question doesn’t apply to you, read through them all will help you gain a better understanding of how I help!

  • Many clients come to me after months and months of studying. They have taken courses, worked with other tutors .. but they are stuck. So I get to work to figure out how to turn things around. Perhaps they need to better understand the logic underlying the questions, perhaps they need to fill in gaps that they didn’t know existed, perhaps they need a new strategy for timing… whatever the issues, my job is to find them and fix them.

  • Studying day and night is not the solution when you’ve already been studying day and night. And when it comes to standardized tests, it really never is the solution. A deep understanding, often glossed over by big companies, is key to navigating the kinds of problems that take twists and turns, that don’t look exactly like the ones you’ve practiced.

  • I have niche expertise helping students who need the highest of scores. For example, GMAT tutors boast helping students gain scores of 700+. I regularly helps clients achieve 750 or above. I understand what needs to be tweaked to get those extra points, the points right at the top that seem so elusive.

  • As funny as it sounds, I often teach students teach students to be lazier. Efficiency is key. I know what you need to know and the quickest way to get there.

The most efficient path is different for everyone. As I teach, I’m also constantly figuring out how you think, what you’re missing, what your strengths are… and given my background in law and logic, I use the socratic method (in the nicest way possible). This means I teach by asking you questions, so that you can figure out the answers.

This makes for a much deeper understanding than that gained by just being told what to do. And it adds to your own confidence. The positive spirit gained by true confidence is immensely helpful on test day; it’s an amazing antidote to test anxiety.

Perhaps in high school you studied for standardized exams by drilling for months. But this is not a viable option for most busy professionals or parents. And it’s unnecessary.
